Easy Tips For Making Your Kids Costumes Without Being A Fashion Whiz

Have you noticed that every Halloween the kids gather for trick or treating, or for school activities, and they all look the same? You can be sure that you will see at least three kids with the costume your own is wearing within five minutes of walking out the door. You probably wish you could make something unique and interesting for your children, but you might not be too handy with a thread and needle. But you don’t have to be a tailor to make your kids costumes this Halloween.

There are some simple tricks you can try, just a few little shortcuts, and they will make life much easier, while allowing your child to have something one-of-a-kind this fall. First, make sure to get the measurements right. This is easy enough to do with a simple fabric measuring tape, which can be found at any craft store. Next, be sure to convert inches into yards before buying, and always get two years more than you need, just in case.

Also, if you are not so good with stitching, get a glue gun. It make sound silly, but when it comes to adding embellishments, or just creating a reinforcement for some badly done thread work, it can save your life.
